About the name Torva Terra:

"Sometimes I get asked about the name Torva Terra. What does it mean? Torva Terra is Latin for Wild Earth. It symbolizes my mission to photograph natural beauty. Whether it be scenic landscapes or gorgeous wildlife portraits, I am out in the field documenting our amazing world and sharing it here with all of you!"

About the photography:

All of the images on TorvaTerra.com were photographed by Kate. She spends most of her free time in the field creating photographs of natural beauty. Her passion is to capture wildlife in such a way that the subjects eyes and expression tell a story.

Filters: My favorite filter brands are Formatt Hitech, B+W and Cokin. The filters I keep in my bag are the B+W 77mm ND 3.0 1000x (Model #1066177), B+W 65-073102 77mm Neutral Density 0.9-8x #103 (Model #65-073102), B+W 77mm Kaesemann C-POL MRC (Model #66-045620), Cokin P-Series Holder, Cokin Drop-In GND (P.120) and the Formatt Hitech Neutral Density Graduate Soft Edge Kit. The 10-stop, C-POL and Formatt Hitech soft grads are the filters that I use most often especially for landscapes.
